1984 - 1986 Drummed in at the age of 22 “Peter Prins Combo” (father’s band)
1986 – 1988 played in “Maxi and Mahogany” Funk / Soul band
1988 – 1988 – (six months) “Peter Prins Combo” as stand in drummer
1989 – 1990 – two years break
1990 – 1992 – “Marie De Rozairo Quartet” – Jazz band – in lobbies of 5 star hotels and Casino’s
1992 – 1994 – “Peter Prins Combo” – toured Australia and Dubai playing dances
1994 – 1999 – five year break
1999 – 2000 – (six months) – Jazz Trio – led by the late Joe Tambimuttu
2000 – 2002 – “Blind Faith” R&B band - led by Jeff Fernando
2002 – to date break off regular band work

Special Assignments

Worked professionally with:
Glen Terry and Friends – Blues and Jazz music
Jerome Speldewinde – Blues / Standards / Soul / Salsa / Funk / Reggae 

Experience as Percussionist for Drama, Musical Theatre and Concerts

1990 – to date – Working with the Merry An Singers, Peterite Chorale, Old Joes Choir, the Revelations, Wendy Whatmore Academy, Holy Family Convent and productions headed by Indu Dharmasena

Percussion / drum accompaniment for the “4 Pianos in concert”  series produced by Mano Chanmugam


Involvement in Theatre / Dance / Choral Music

Represented the school in Shakespeare

Studied Speech and Drama at Wendy Whatmore Academy

Acted in many stage productions of the Academy

Acted in Stage plays and musicals produced by Jerome de Silva

Brother of Joseph in Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat , Member of Fagin’s den in Oliver, A Disciple in Godspell, Mister Mistoffelees in Cats, Bill Sykes in Oliver

Was a member of the cast in Evita produced by Graham Hatch

Was a student of the Oosha Garten of Ballet – learnt classical, modern and jazz ballet – danced a selection of lead roles in many ballets between 1983 – 1988

Was a member of the Merry-An Singers from 1983 – 1988 and performed at many of the group's concerts

Participated in Ballroom and Latin Dancing Championships

Interested in all forms of sports
