25 year old Aanjanee is a past pupil of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya and has nurtured an interest in singing and acting since she was a child. She holds an ATCL diploma for Teaching Speech and Drama and is currently working on her LTCL qualification. She also holds a diploma in Teaching Children with Learning Disabilities.
Her love for singing began with joining her church choir (People’s Church Assembly of God) at the age of 15. She has taken part in numerous productions organized by the church such as the ‘Singing Christmas Tree’ held in 2000, 2001 and 2002. She pursued her love for singing by undergoing voice training with Mrs. Adele Beling Bibile. She has successfully passed her First Concert Certificate and the Performer’s Certificate in Singing offered by Trinity College London with Distinction. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to continue singing with Sri Lanka’s premiere all female choral group, Soul Sounds, from October 2008.
Aanjanee also cultivated a passion for theatre and has performed in Bengal Bungalow and 'Rag-The Preview' (directed by Jehan Aloysius), 'War Letters' and 'Godspell' (directed by Juanita Beling) and 'The Sound of Music' (directed by Jerome L. Desilva)
A teacher by profession, Aanjanee combines a full time job teaching children with autism with the part time teaching of speech and drama. She also narrates news items for the New magazine programme, Sri Lanka news weekly, which is a weekly news production telecast in Victoria, Australia. The programme was nominated this year for an Australia wide Antenna award for programmes telecast on Channel 31.
