Eighteen-year-old Dinushka began singing with a professional choir at the age of six. Young but determined, Dinushka took part in the Under 16 solo singing category at the 58th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales, in July 2004 and was adjudged 1st runner up. She is the youngest to win an international award in the field of classical music in Sri Lanka. She also received an honourable mention at the 7th Concerto Competition organised by the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka in 2006.
As a founder member of Soul Sounds, Dinushka, fondly known as ‘Bola’, is loved and is quite popular amongst the group. She is also one of the leading soloists of the group.
Blessed with many talents, Dinushka was also placed 1st at the All Island Annual Oratorical Contest organized by the Colombo Central YMCA & the Rotary Club in 2002 as well as 2003. She also shares a great passion for debating and acting and hopes to reach greater heights in the future.
Dinushka has just completed her Performance Certificate Examinations conducted by the Trinity College of Music with distinction. She was the featured soprano, at the annual Young Soloists Concert of the SOSL, in August 2010.
