Twenty-two-year old ‘Lila’ as she is called, is a dynamic and adventurous personality. She always loved to sing and joined the Senior Choir of Holy Family Convent, Colombo 04 when she was fourteen. She was a member of the choirs that performed in Wales, India and China. She is a founding member of Soul Sounds and is one of its past leaders.
Lila is an ardent theatre fan and has participated in Shakespeare Drama Competitions while in school, as well as in Sinhala drama productions. She took part in the musical ‘Smike’ directed by Jerome L. de Silva in 1999 and in the rerun of ‘Bengal Bungalow’ directed by Jehan Aloysius in 2004.
She is reading for a BA in English Honours at the University of Colombo and also works part time at the Centre for Policy Alternatives (a local non-governmental organisation).
She loves singing, theatre, reading, loafing, sports, nature, adventure and rowing. She is the rowing captain of the University women’s team. She is a fun loving person and entertains everyone with her unique laugh.
Lila is an alto but sings soprano at times! A dedicated chorister who is admired for her qualities, she truly lives up to her philosophy in life – live life to the fullest!
