The choir takes the stage, lights come on, music begins and the choir begins their performance. Throughout the performance there is a small figure in the middle of the stage catching the eye of the audience with her stage presence, charisma and confidence. It is none other than Melody, also known as ‘Melodious Melody’. Melody is one of the most expressive performers in the choir.
Melody is sixteen years old. She has two other sisters who are also in the choir and is the youngest in her family. She studies at Holy Family Convent, Colombo 04 and as her name states, she loves to sing! Melody started singing at the young age of four with Mrs. Irangani Wickramasinghe. She does examinations conducted by the Royal Schools of Music & Trinity College and also takes Musical Theatre Exams. She is also studying Speech & Drama with Mrs. Wendy Holsinger.
Melody has been signing with the choir for over five years. She has won many singing competitions in school and also takes part in debates and drama competitions.
Melody enjoys singing, dancing, talking, reading and watching movies. She loves to write and is very often seen in a corner writing away in her journal. Melody loves to watch Broadway musicals and hopes to make it to the Broadway stage in New York one day.
