This bubbly and enthusiastic individual has been singing for over six years. She enjoys every minute she spends with the group, as she loves singing. For her, every song means something special and it brings back fond memories and makes it possible for her to relive special moments in the past.
She will be starting her degree in Arts at the University of Colombo this year. Her love for children led her to take up the challenging but interesting profession of Montessori training.
Saumya also trains with the Vajira and Chitrasena oriental dance ensemble in Colombo and has choreographed many items for Soul Sounds.
She enjoys writing poetry and collecting earrings, but nothing brings her more joy than ‘babysitting’, which clearly explains why she wanted to become a Montessori teacher.
Saumya was the choir leader during the latter part of 2006 and her beautiful voice and graceful dancing has contributed to the success of the choir.
