Tanisha Kiara Wijesinghe is currently studying for her Advanced Level at Colombo International School, to which she moved to from St. Bridget’s Convent, after successfully completing her O/Levels. Since her childhood Tanisha has loved and enjoyed singing as well as dancing and was an integral part of the school choir. She has been a part of Soul Sounds since 2006. She has also successfully completed singing exams under the guidance of Soundarie David.
Drama too is an integral part of her life. She has taken part in many school productions and has also taken part in the all island Shakespeare Drama competitions. Additionally she has successfully completed her grade seven Speech and Drama exam, conducted by Trinity College London. Tanisha also took up traditional Sri Lankan dancing at the age of five and is now a professional Kandyan dancer having trained at the Channa and Upuli Academy for Oriental Dancing. “Joining Soul Sounds under the guidance of Aunty Soundarie, has given me the opportunity to improve my singing and even travel the world, but most importantly it has also given me the opportunity to make some true friends who are really amazing. Soul Sounds is one big family and that’s what helps us to excel in what we do. Everyone’s there for each other and I’m truly blessed to have friends like this who’ve helped me become who I am today.”
